[the besteez]

redefining "BEST"

BEST = [ BODY ENERGY SPACE TIME ]
four elements that we explore through movement to build deeper awareness, strength, and freedom as artists.

as a core program of Chamber Creative, The Besteez is a dance wellness community for movers who want to grow in both skill and spirit.

the "best" "steez" naturally comes out of caring for our Body, Energy, Space, and Time -- because when we care for our BEST, we show up at our best, both on and off the dance floor.

this program blends:

street dance foundations
somatic exploration through Somaflow
choreography, freestyle, and creative process
community building and artistic development

Besteez Collective

focuses on community dance training, artistic skill-building, and ongoing Somaflow practice.

there is no audition required to join. 4-month seasonal commitment.

registration opens seasonally every Spring and Fall.

Besteez Company

for intermediate/advanced dancers interested in competition and paid dance opportunities.

requires auditioning for selection and a 1-year commitment.

auditions occur prior to the start of each Fall season.

[BESTEEZ] is more than a team — it's a chamber within the [CHAMBER].
we perform, create films, co-host events, and build with the community around us.

schedule

rehearsals are weekly on Fridays from 6:00 - 9:00 pm in Chicago.
(some extra sessions and creative projects happen outside of this.)

dues & benefits

members currently pay monthly dues, which go toward rehearsal space, resources, and direction.
in return, dancers receive:

6-9 hours of dance training per month
1 virtual workshop per month
opportunities for *free guest passes to our directors' drop-in classes
free or discounted admission to other Chamber Creative community offerings
*guest passes are limited and are given on a first-come, first-serve basis

we’re working toward sustainability so we can one day pay our Company artists directly for their time and craft.

is this for me?

we’re looking for dancers who are curious, collaborative, and down to grow. street foundation helps, but it’s not a requirement — just bring your full self, your work ethic, and your love for the craft.

registration opens seasonally (Spring and Fall) for the Besteez Collective.
auditions occur annually for the Besteez Company.
